OVER 60 YEARS OF GOD's Story in South Davis County
In November of 1962, God moved in the heart of four couples who began to dream of planting a church in Bountiful, Utah. Over the years that church grew to become Grace Baptist Church. In the Spring of 1980, Pat Edwards became the pastor of Grace Baptist Church and served faithfully for over 30 years.
In October of 1994, a small group gathered in a school building on the corner of 400 N and 400 E to pray for what would become the future home of Grace Baptist Church. In the building that day were Ted and Kathy Liou, Ralph & Mary Russell, Pat Zitting, and Kay Vest. You will still find each of these men and women gathered for prayer at Flourishing Grace Church every Sunday morning, 23 years later.
In 2010 Grace Baptist Church sought a greater kingdom impact in Bountiful and arranged to be adopted by Washington Heights Church in Ogden. In October 2010 Grace Baptist became Bountiful Heights Church. Under new leadership and vision, God began to strengthen the core of the church once again and a transformation began to take place.
In 2014 Bountiful Heights began the search for a new pastor who would lead them into the next chapter of the story God was writing. In the spring of 2014 Josh Knight become the pastor of Bountiful Heights. Over the next two years, God reformed and reshaped the culture of the church. It more than doubled in attendance and people began to invest their lives into what God was doing at Bountiful Heights. In early 2016 it was becoming clear that God had created something new in Bountiful and it was time for the church to once again step out on its own.
In January 2017 Bountiful Heights was replanted as Flourishing Grace Church. Flourishing Grace tells the story of long faithfulness in the same direction. Now, 55 years later, the dream of four couples is still being realized and God is transforming lives in Bountiful, Utah. Every weekend the name of Jesus is lifted high, and His amazing gospel is taught to more and more people.
We can't wait to see what He is going to do next.
