Christmas Market

This year we have a special opportunity to help children and families in need. On December 16th - 17th, Flourishing Grace will be hosting a Christmas Market at Backman Elementary School, a “Title I” school in Salt Lake City.

What is the Christmas Market? Each year, Flourishing Grace organizes an event to help provide gifts for families and children that are in need, including a high number of refugees and families under the poverty line. Because so many families in this school have very few resources, many families have no resources for any kind of holiday gifts. Parents attend the Christmas Market and “shop” for their kids in a fun, festive atmosphere.

How can I give? From now until December 11th we will be accepting brand new toys for boys and girls from age 5 through 6th grade. To participate, grab one or more gift tags off the Backman trees in the lobby at Flourishing Grace. Alternatively, you can give a monetary donation, either on Sunday morning, online, or on the Church Center app. You can bring your donations to the church on Sunday or during the work week. Specifically, here are toys that have been requested:

  • Dolls + Accessories

  • Tea sets

  • Stuffed animals

  • Unicorn things

  • Nail art

  • Slime

  • Sports things

  • Cars and Hot Wheels

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Coloring books + Crayons/Markers

  • Super Heroes

  • Scooters

  • Skateboard

  • Head Phones

We are also accepting donations of wrapping paper and wrapping supplies.

If you would rather donate cash (tax-deductible) we will purchase toys for you! Simply click the donation button below.

How can I volunteer? We need many volunteers to pull off this amazing event. We will need a team on Friday afternoon 12:30pm - 3:30pm to set up the market, then additional volunteers to run the market and bring the Christmas cheer Friday 3:30-6:30pm and Saturday 8am - 2pm (plus some cleanup afterward). Simply click the volunteer button below.
