What is a Path Group?
Path Groups are groups of 3-4 same gender folks who meet regularly to encourage one another to cultivate Christ centered rhythms of life that followers of Jesus have practiced for thousands of years.
Why Should I Be In A Path Group?
At Flourishing Grace we believe that human flourishing is found in closest proximity to Jesus. Following the Jesus is more than believing the right set of doctrines and trying to be a good person (Path of Religion) or chasing after our ever illusive dreams and sprinkling some Jesus on it (Path of Culture).
While believing the right things, living rightly, and looking for meaning aren’t intrinsically bad. The reality for many is that if we live in isolation and we aren’t intentional about what we do day in and day out our days go by in a blink, and our living, our dreaming, and our meaning never find any real rest or satisfaction. We were not designed to be at the center of our lives.
The Path of Jesus is an invitation into a way of life. Scripture is is very clear that that life that Jesus has on offer flourishes in community and we want to be a community that centers our lives in the promise and work of Christ.
How do I start a path Group?
We’ve found the Path Groups that do the best are ones that form organically. If you’re new to FGC a good way to get to meet other folks is by first joining a Table Group. If there is someone you’ve connected with on a Sunday or in your Table Group ask if they’d be interested in joining you at the next Path Course. We offer Path Group Courses three times a year (September, January, and May). The Path Group Course is four weeks long.
